What the Patient Should Expect

Patient’s height and weight documented upon arrival at the facility:

  • Data entered into PET/CT machine.
  • Permits proper calibration & calculation of SUV’s.

Patient brought to private room and placed in reclining lounge chair:

  • Our rooms are dimly lit, with a private television and headphones.
  • Patient rests in a very comfortable La-Z-Boy recliner.
  • Pillows and blankets are provided for patient comfort.

Patient drinks 32-ounces of oral contrast cocktail (recipe here): 

  • While many radiologists administer oral contrast only to patients with known intra-abdominal masses, we administer our oral contrast cocktail to all patients.

Patient injected intravenously
